With 2,458 likes on Facebook and 578 comments on Huffington Post I had to read about Kerry Campbell injecting her child with Botox.
“It’s pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year-old with Botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation,” San Francisco Human Services Agency spokesperson Trent Rohrer told GMA. Unusual is an understatement insane is more like it. Kerry Campbell a beautician injects her child with Botox to preserve her childish face and get rid of wrinkles.
Mistreating children in anyway is considered child abuse shouldn’t injecting poison in your child’s face be in that category? As if that not enough her child also undergoes waxing. With a world filled with insecurities and a reality show for every one of them, what are you teaching your child by doing this? Ms. Campbell should be teaching her child that she is beautiful and that as she grows so will her beauty. We need to empower our girls and tell them they are okay the way they are.
I believe that beauty pageants put pressure on kids. I’m a strong believer that kids should just be kids. They spend so much time in hair and makeup and learning routines, it just seems like a lot. Pageant coach Valerie Hayes said on The View, “This is not what pageantry is about and I’m sorry to say she’s only doing a disservice to her daughter and will never win the title that she so desperately seeks.” Although, Ms. Campbell is making headlines I wonder how far are other moms are willing to go to win?
