The Future of Galliano

The drugs, alcohol and the pressure made me do it! John Galliano testified in court Thursday that he wasn’t aware of the racist remarks he made this past February.  The demons of his addiction and the pressure of the fashion industry caused him to act out of character.  It is unclear whether his offensive remarks will land him prison time or a monetary fine. But, Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) made it clear that Galliano will not be working for any LVMH’s brands including his own Galliano label.  Since, Galliano won’t be returning, sources say Bill Gaytten will be taking over. Gaytten was behind the latest menswear collection last week. The show was inspired by London in the 60s. [Styleite, The Blay Report, On The Runway, WWD]
