I can’t stand the rain! If you share my feelings and like your feet stylish and dry get excited. Jason Wu will collaborate with plastic shoe brand Melissa to make two exclusive styles for the upcoming spring. The shoes are based on Melissa’s two best-sellers the Ultragirl ballet flat and the Lady Dragon peep-toe sling back.  The ballet flats will be topped with Wu’s: Miss Wu owl logo and the sunburst design from his Fall 2011 collection will adorn the pumps.  Both styles will be available in black, burgundy, nude, transparent grey, and will be lined with printed pink and black lace.

“It was really interesting for me to explore design possibilities with plastic,” said Wu of the collaboration. “I wanted to take advantage of the materials I was given, make it all completely functional and waterproof and yet still remain extremely sophisticated.”

Jason Wu is the first American designer to collaborate with Melissa; Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, and Jean Paul Gaultier were previous collaborators. [WWD, Fashionologie]
