For the upcoming 2012 Olympics, the Jamaican team will be wearing uniforms designed by Cedella Marley (daughter of iconic musician Bob Marley) in collaboration with PUMA. The design will be worn by both men, women, including the three- time Jamaican gold metal winner Usain Bolt. This collaboration reinforces the brands long time commitment to the Caribbean nation with its rich and vibrant culture heritage, global music contributions and is unparallelled dedication to athletics.
“Cedella, the Marley family and their fun and laid back Jamaican nature are a perfect fit for the PUMA brand”, said Franz Koch, CEO of PUMA [in an interview with Football Fashion]. “Cedella’s vibrant style and unique design will bring an authenticity to the Olympic PUMA collection for the entire world to see in London 2012, boosting the visibility of our brand significantly.”
