Oscar de la Renta: Retrospective at Clinton Presidential Library

Oscar de la Renta, will finally get a retrospective in the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum after dressing countless first ladies (except Michelle Obama).

The famously opinionated designer has been is known for his disapproval of Michelle Obama wearing an American designer over Alexander McQueen. Although, Ms. O’s choice not to wear is considered “unusual” let’s remember she is an American so we should be happy she supports American designers.

Pieces worn by Laura Bush and George W. Bush will be on display at the exhibit according to Vogue, the exhibit hopes to the George W. Bush Library in Texas and the Reagan Library in California.

Andre Leon Talley curated the exhibition, Oscar de la Renta: An American Icon, which opens in November. Fourty pieces will be arranged into categories like “impact” and “Caribbean” [Fashionista]
