“All of us at Vogue look forward to putting on the cover the first female president of the United States,” Ann Wintour told the audience, who responded with the greatest applause of the evening, WWD is reporting. Ms. Wintour made her endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday during the opening of the Oscar de la Renta exhibit at the Clinton Presidential Center. I guess it’s safe to say that Ann Wintour is already planning a fund–raising dinner.
Everyone should know that Ms. Clinton loves pantsuits and politics, so it was only fitting that she hosted an exhibition for Oscar de la Renta (the man behind the pantsuit) at the Clinton Presidential Center. The exhibition was all Ms. Clinton’s idea, and what De la Renta thought was going to be an exhibit featuring dresses he made for her and other first ladies became a retrospective of his work. Apparently, the former FLOTUS and Secretary of State and De La Renta are joined at the seam. They are good friends and have vacationed together. (Oscar del la Renta, I have a few vacation days, if you’re ever free!)
